Haskell's fast-growing Healthcare Construction Division is seeking an experienced professional for a position critical to its continued expansion.
Haskell’s expanding Healthcare Division is designated as one of its core growth markets, and its opening for a Healthcare Preconstruction Manager is an opportunity for an aspiring professional to be the linchpin in continuing to execute that strategy.
“When we go to interview for a project, this person is the first or second most important person in the room,” said Mark Allnutt, Healthcare Construction Market Leader. “In addition to the project director, this is the person who is going to steer them through the GMP (guaranteed maximum price) effort.
“We're looking for somebody who can lead the precon effort and have a presence about them that when they walk in the room, they’re trustworthy. When something comes out of their mouth, the client believes what they’re saying.”
Obviously, the position requires a wealth of industry knowledge, and Steve Rampulla, Director of Preconstruction Services in the Infrastructure & Transportation Group, said it is ideal for an experienced healthcare preconstruction specialist who is ready to take the next career step.
“We want to build around this individual,” Rampulla said. “This will be our lead person. It could be a strong manager type who is looking for their next move, or it could be a seasoned person at the director level. It's a specialty niche, healthcare, and there’s rapid growth. We’ve identified it as a core market for Haskell.”
The successful candidate will be responsible for all preconstruction activities on large volume healthcare projects, including developing preliminary budgets, value engineering, preconstruction schedules, procurement plan, prequalification of subcontractors, detailed take-off and estimating, the definition of bid package scopes, the subcontractor/supplier bidding process, evaluation of bids, presentation of detailed estimates of the work, evaluation of alternatives and comparative studies.
“This individual needs to be able to have the ability to price work from the conceptual level all the way through to the end and be the leader of that of that pricing effort,” Rampulla said. “The conceptual piece is very important.”
In addition to providing a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment, Haskell operates with the direction of six strategic pillars, the first of which is to “Provide Team Members the BEST Job of Their Lives.” It offers a robust benefits package that includes a 401k match and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), which creates stock ownership for every full-time team member.
