When it comes to recruiting skilled tradespeople to perform the crucial jobs required on a massive industrial construction site, it turns out that one of the greatest sources of visibility is the massive industrial construction site itself.

Considering this reality, Haskell has created and is seeking to fill the new position of Skilled Trades Recruiter, a role in which the successful candidate will spend at least 50 percent of their time in the field.

“Quite frequently, people do walk onto the job site looking for work,” said Allison Steeg, a Lead Recruiter on Haskell’s Talent Acquisition team. “The Skilled Trades Recruiter will accept that person, talk with them, maybe interview them on the spot. They’ll be there to support and help the hiring managers on-site from a hiring perspective.”

Working out of Haskell’s Jacksonville headquarters, this person will cover a limited number of Northeast Florida job sites and operate as a full-cycle recruiter, making connections and sourcing positions, facilitating the interview, hiring and onboarding processes from the human resources standpoint.

Familiarity with trades is a plus, and five years of experience in a similar position would be ideal but isn’t required. Neither does the position require a college degree, but it’s certainly a great opportunity for someone who wants to earn one, given Haskell’s tuition-reimbursement program, one of a host of terrific benefits the company offers.

“There are so many growth opportunities,” Steeg said. “You're going to create a lot of good relationships with people here at Haskell and out in the community. With the training and development that we offer, the person can really elevate themselves and grow their career.”

Haskell is a fast-growing, global company with more than 1,850 team members and a large backlog of upcoming projects for longtime clients and new customers alike. The Skilled Trades Recruiter is a key new role as the company works to attract and develop the workforce of the future.

The position is supported by a training and career development program ranked No. 3 in Training Magazine’s Top 100. Haskell recently hired a Craft Development Specialist, who visits job sites providing its teams with skill-based training.

Haskell operates with the direction of six strategic pillars, the first of which is to “Provide Team Members the BEST Job of Their Lives.” Team members receive full health and insurance plans, wellness resources and meaningful work/life balance solutions, including paid time off, a 401k match and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), which creates stock ownership for everyone who is full-time.
