Packaging Controls Engineer Sought for Uniquely Integrated Team
Built to create large packaging projects, Haskell's team takes pride in a collaborative process that benefits clients' businesses for years to come.
Usually, by the time a controls integrator encounters a new packaging line, the design is done, the systems are procured and installed and only the final stages of the project remain. With its opening for a Senior Packaging Controls Engineer, Haskell offers an opportunity to be part of projects from concept to commissioning.
“This team was built for large packaging-project execution,” said Don Kocher, Haskell Director of Packaging Automation. “This position entails being part of the design and decision-making process, interfacing with the client to drive good, sound decisions that will play into the overall execution of the project long-term. When we're working on greenfield opportunities, some of the decisions we're making with client is going to set the course for them for years to come.”
The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience, a high level of competency with Rockwell Automation hardware and programming and the acumen to create high-quality and effective controls design, programming and start-up solutions.
Ranked No. 1 among Food & Beverage Contractors by ENR in 2020, Haskell excels by participating in a highly collaborative process with clients and offering integrated delivery abilities that produce world-class facilities and lines.
“We're really focused on helping the client execute large capital projects,” Kocher said. “What our team members get excited about is taking an idea like, ‘We want to put a bottling line in this facility by this date,’ scaling that and seeing it all the way through to the point where it's an actual operating system that the client is going to be able to take over and run for years to come.”
As an employee-owned company with an ownership culture, Haskell team members work to benefit clients and each other, guided by the core values of Team, Excellence Service and Trust. Strategically, Haskell operates with the direction of six strategic pillars, the first of which is to “Provide Team Members the BEST Job of Their Lives,” manifests in a robust benefits package that includes a 401k match and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), which creates stock ownership for every full-time team member.
The company’s packaging operations are primarily based in its Atlanta, Georgia, office, which was honored in 2021 as one of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Top Workplaces Award.
“What we're seeing more and more is the project teams, because they work so collaboratively and so closely, that they are forming strong bonds and friendships,” Kocher said. “I think this is great to see because they know they've got someone they can lean on.”
