Growth responds to system changes.

Haskell is adept at teaming arrangements.

Working closely with Venturi, Scott Brown & Associates, Haskell developed a facility design to address all of our strategic plan’s key elements. Departmental sizes and components are sized based upon forecasted patient volumes and a clear understanding of each department and service line function.

The Cedar Crest Campus master plan was driven by several key concepts:

  • Enhance the campus as the system’s tertiary care center by expanding key diagnostic and treatment departments
  • Expand acute and critical care bed capacity while moving toward the goal of an all-private bed model
  • Create a framework of growth to address parking, access, engineering, infrastructure, and office space
  • Provide future expansion zones

The design includes six new operating rooms with expanded support, expanded recovery and same-day surgery units, new 12-bed open heart and 30-bed step-down units, new 32-bed ICU, 18-bed burn unit, and four 30-bed acute care patient units. Key features of the inpatient areas include all private patient rooms with overnight accommodations and a semi-enclosed healing garden for patients, staff, and families.
