Northwest Specialty Clinics

Springfield, Oregon

A practice plans for growth but needs a facility that can meet new demands.

Northwest Specialty Clinics houses a network of nine specialty practices employing more than 50 physicians. After the area’s largest hospital made the decision to build a replacement hospital at the developing RiverBend Medical Campus across town, Haskell was engaged to assist Northwest Specialty Clinics in providing a new home for their practice as well.

We helped owners sort through planning and construction challenges.

Our real estate professionals assisted in locating and acquiring the site, a prime location adjacent to the new hospital. One of the challenges that the design team faced was the reconciliation of diverse viewpoints within the ownership group. With respect and support of the group’s existing management structure, an orderly process was devised to allow differing viewpoints to be expressed and consensus achieved regarding the final product.

The practice is serving more patients than ever thanks to a well-planned facility.

The five-story, 127,000-square-foot building offers joint conference spaces, a café and two air-conditioned footbridges that provide easy access to the adjacent medical office building and parking structure. Because of the various occupancy types utilizing the new facility, the project required extensive permitting and licensure. The clinic’s new home has performed brilliantly, allowing the practice to expand its services and increase market share.
