The OKC structural engineering team once again enjoyed an afternoon of participating in the OKC National Memorial and Museum summer STEM camp.
The kids were exposed in the OKCNMM Discovery Lab to structural design
concepts for natural and man-made disasters as well as the impact structural engineers in the aftermath of the bombing.
They were able to test their knowledge when moving from the Discovery Lab to the next activity. Each group of kids were asked to build a toothpick and marshmallow structure that would be tested against an earthquake.
It is always great to see the kid’s faces light up when their design comes to life!
