About the Merritt Island Office
Haskell has maintained a presence in Brevard County since the late 1990s, completing nearly $100 million in improvements to local schools and more than $550 million of work overall. Notable clients in the area include Blue Origin, NASA, Aerion, L3Harris, Melbourne-Orlando International Airport, the Canaveral Port Authority and Brevard County Public Schools.
Markets supported in Merritt Island include aviation, aerospace, education, maritime, municipal and water. This office is of particular interest to Haskell’s Aviation & Aerospace Manufacturing Division, which has completed more than $450 million worth of work in the area since 2016. As a part of Florida’s Space Coast, Brevard County is an opportune area for clients in the aviation and space sectors.

The new Riverfront Plaza has begun to take shape at the former Landing site, where Haskell acted as Construction Manager at Risk and delivered Phase 1 on time and within budget in 2025, setting the tone for what disciplined, collaborative execution can achieve.
Haskell is now leading Phase 2 of Riverfront Plaza and was recently awarded similar roles at Metropolitan Park and Shipyards West Park. Together, the three projects represent a coordinated transformation of Jacksonville’s downtown waterfront. Each space is designed to serve the community differently, but all are grounded in the same principle: reconnect the city to its river.

Today, we’re going on a ski trip. But not just any ski trip! This one has been optimized by Zary Peretz, a Senior Analyst on Haskell’s System Analytics team.
Zary and her husband, Aaron, scheduled some PTO to hit the slopes in Park City, Utah. They arranged the flights, the car and the hotel. They packed the bibs and beanies.
And then Zary got busy.
By analyzing lift patterns, tracking peak usage and planning runs that suited them both, she built a simple optimization strategy that reduced wait times and maximized their time on the slopes.

Micro-hospitals are gaining traction as health systems look for ways to extend 24/7 access in communities that cannot sustain a full-scale hospital.
The Northeast Georgia Health System partnered with Haskell in Lumpkin County to evaluate options and identify an appropriate micro-hospital model. From there, marketing and communications helped set expectations, explain the continuum of care and build understanding through sustained outreach, including town halls across the region.

Women in Construction Week highlights the people shaping what is next for the industry. One example is high school student Samantha Colina Wuertter.
Samantha moved from Venezuela to Florida at age 10 during the height of COVID. She was adjusting to a new country, a new school system and a new language. Construction was not part of her plan.
That changed at Tocoi Creek High School’s Academy of Innovation in the Built Environment, led by Built Environment teacher Chris McKinney with support from the Northeast Florida Builders Association and its Professional Women in Building program. Students create hands-on projects that simulate real-world design and construction: teamwork, budgeting, scheduling, layouts and material planning.
Wuertter chose to teach herself AutoCAD even though it was not required. She pushed through the learning curve and found she enjoyed designing for construction and coordinating how the work comes together.

Today marks the start of Women in Construction Week, a time to recognize the professionals building projects and shaping the future of the industry. At Haskell, that includes women like Assistant Project Manager Nima Goodman, who is growing her career in the field through hands-on experience and structured training.
As a participant in Haskell’s Rotational Cross Training Program, Nima gains guided, hands-on exposure across project scopes.
“Being able to rotate through Safety and Quality has changed how I walk the job site,” she said. “I can see the work from different perspectives and understand how each piece fits together.”
Haskell’s integrated design-build model depends on team members who understand the full project lifecycle. Programs like the Rotational Cross Training Program help build that foundation while creating opportunities for growth.

As we continue in Engineers Week2026, we bring the spotlight to Jonathan Luu, Lead Mechanical Engineer, Public Sector Building Design, in Haskell’s Charlotte, North Carolina, office.
“I pursued engineering because of the certainty, the facts and the formulas, but what I found is that for me, engineering has in many ways been like art,” he says. “Numbers and data are like my paints and canvas.”

Data Analyst Katelyn McLean and several other members of Haskell’s System Analytics team recently attended Emulate3D’s annual User Group Meeting in Salt Lake City. The event brings together developers and users from across packaging, OEM, automation and distribution.
Timed just weeks before the launch of the newest version of the software, this conference aims to share best practices, introduce new technology and showcase how Emulate3D is being used across different industries.
Emulate3D is a core tool for Haskell’s Systems Analytics Team, enabling discrete-event simulations and emulations that help clients improve existing systems or evaluate complex systems before they are built. For Katelyn, this year’s meeting offered both technical insight and perspective.
“Presentations on simulating ASRS and AMR systems showed how different technologies can be modeled to achieve similar operational goals,” she said. “I started with Haskell in the summer of 2025, and experiencing an event like this has been an education in the range of applications we use and broadened my understanding of what’s possible.”
Katelyn presented alongside Haskell Analytics Technical Lead Shannon Browning, who shared how the team leveraged Emulate3D’s Wiring Diagrams feature as an alternative to traditional C# scripting when building simulation logic.
“Katelyn developed innovative tools for this project, and it was great to present this work alongside her at UGM,” Browning said. “These opportunities to hone our craft are essential to providing our clients with certainty of outcome. Katelyn is immensely talented, and I`m excited to see how her career develops.”
