What We Do

Design-Build

As a design-build pioneer, Haskell has been providing certainty of outcome for decades.

Preston Haskell, the founder of Haskell, was a pioneer of the design-build method of project delivery and, further, played an instrumental role in the formation of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA). In February 1993, Haskell gathered 15 executives of major design-build firms, as well as other companies interested in design-build, to a series of meetings. At the time, design-build was still considered “nontraditional,” with design-bid-build and construction management at-risk being the preferred forms of project delivery. However, Haskell and his peers reasoned that design-build backers needed an organization to represent their interests.

Taking a collaborative approach throughout, we reduce risk and ensure that your project is delivered on time and on budget.

As a single entity, Haskell assumes responsibility for the design, construction, and commissioning of the facility (including acceptance testing). Through our focus on collaboration, we create value for our clients by mitigating risk, shortening delivery schedules and reducing cost. Our integrated design-build teams work across all architectural, engineering and construction disciplines throughout the entire lifecycle of a project to provide certainty of outcome.  We successfully deliver high-quality facilities meeting our client’s time and budget requirements while significantly reducing their administrative burden and risk by serving as a single point of contact and responsibility.
