JACKSONVILLE, FL – Haskell recently completed the twin bay Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) painting facility at Brookley Aeroplex in Mobile, Alabama for MAAS Aviation USA (MAAS). The completion of this facility is an exciting development for MAAS’s clients, as MAAS opened their Mobile, Alabama location in 2015 to support the Airbus Final Assembly Line as well as target the U.S. aircraft repainting market.
This two bay hangar is capable of painting the largest single aisle commercial aircraft produced by Airbus and Boeing as well as smaller aircraft for commercial or cargo flights. The state-of-the-art facility was contracted on a design-build basis with construction completed in less than one year. The hangar includes environmental controls capable of regulating precise temperature and humidity criteria during preparation and spray painting operations.
"This is probably the most cost-efficient facility of its kind in the USA," said Paul Raudenbush, Haskell's Senior Vice President, who oversaw the engineering and construction of the facility. "MAAS works in a very competitive market so they needed a facility that provided value and is economical to operate, while providing the clean and controlled air environment necessary to execute quality paint jobs. Haskell was able to deliver exactly what MAAS needed and we are very proud of that."
These hangars represent the fifth and sixth aircraft painting facilities that Haskell has completed in recent years, all of which were designed by Haskell's engineers, who have developed experience and expertise in the most challenging aerospace facility projects.
