Home / News & Insights / Living the Values Recipient Ken Boeser Inspires Respect and Trust
Ken Boeser has held many titles since he joined Haskell as an Architect Associate in 2001, including Project Manager, Project Director and, currently, Municipal-Education Market Leader. He now adds the distinction of Living the Values Awards recipient to that list.
Given quarterly to Haskell team members who exemplify Haskell’s core values of Team, Excellence, Service and Trust, Boeser was nominated by colleagues John Albro, Ken Duncan, Allan Iosue, Patrick Pettit, Ivan Robles, Charlie Rocheleau, and Chris Ware.
“Ken’s participation and leadership at presentations, conferences, and outreach events are admirable – especially with his heavy workload – and his engaging positive attitude makes him a pleasure to work with every day,” his nominators wrote. “Clients, consultants, friends, and team members all express their deepest respect for and trust in Ken.”
The honor was especially meaningful, Boeser said, given his long history with the company and the many relationships and friendships he has formed.
“I was very honored to have been selected by my peers for this award,” he said. “I was not expecting it and was even more surprised by the 40 or 50 people who knew about it and kept it a secret. This will be something that I cherish and remember.”
Boeser moved to Jacksonville, Florida, and joined the company after graduating from Southern Illinois University. One of his fondest memories was of a time when Haskell built several charter schools and parks and recreation projects in Cape Coral.
You wouldn’t necessarily think the five- to six-hour drive down and across the state would qualify as a highlight, but for Boeser, it was.
“I will always remember the projects we did in Cape Coral,” Boeser said. “For the first five or six years of the project, we road-tripped down for the day almost every other week. When you spend that much time with people in the car, you really get to know them and form some deep relationships. I have a lot of good friendships in Haskell, and it has really become an extended family to me. “
Given his design background and subsequent construction management experience, Boeser is a valuable member of the collaborative teams that make Haskell a leader in design-build project delivery.
“I have a very well-rounded background and have enjoyed the transition into each new position,” he said. “There has been a lot of support, and I enjoy working with different teams.”
Ken and his wife, Danielle, enjoy traveling and spending time with their family and pets and in the community, and they are active in serving their church and area charitable causes. They like to recharge in the North Carolina mountains and have visited almost every European country.
