Learn about the eight groundbreaking startups that are tackling the construction industry's biggest challenges and now advance to Pitch Day 2024.
The sponsoring partners of the eighth annual Construction Startup Competition have announced the eight winners that will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals at Pitch Day 2024, to be held during the Trimble Dimensions User Conference on November 12 in Las Vegas.
The annual competition received applications from over 70 countries. Startup solutions focus on four categories corresponding to current pain points in the construction value chain. The categories and winners in each are as follows.
Green Construction (sustainability)
- MIXTERING GmbH (Austria), an AI-powered software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution to optimize and create more sustainable, cost-effective concrete mixtures and cement.
- revitalyze (Austria), a digital platform for the reuse of building materials from demolition works.
Enhanced Productivity (efficiency)
- KRAAFT (France), chat augmented with modules to generate no-code reports, maps and trigger AI-powered workflows.
- Sodex Innovations GmbH (Austria), laser and scanning devices for real-time and automated surveying and creating digital twins of construction sites.
- Trunk Tools (U.S.)., an AI platform transforming unstructured data into agents that augment field workers and automate construction.
Construction Supply Chain (timeliness)
- Kaya AI (U.S.), an end-to-end supply chain intelligence and procurement platform.
Future of Construction (disruption)
- GScan (Estonia), cosmic-ray muon tomography for 3D scanning and chemical composition analysis of infrastructures.
- Raise Robotics (U.S.), multi-purpose construction robots to help with high-risk scops on on-site construction.
Each will present their solutions to executive representatives from the competition’s partner companies – Cemex Ventures, Caterpillar, Dysruptek by Haskell, Ferrovial, Hilti, Leonard by VINCI, NOVA by Saint-Gobain, Trimble, and Zacua Ventures – and industry investors. In addition to medals, the three startups with the best pitches will receive cash prizes and continue to be evaluated for potential partnership opportunities with the host companies. Cutler Knupp, Haskell Vice President of Strategy & Innovation and Dysruptek Managing Partner, is one of the judges.
Over the last eight years, Construction Startup Competition has been a launching pad for more than 3,500 startups to network, validate their solutions through pilots and deployment projects, gain industry recognition, and facilitate fundraising with the mission to advance innovation in construction and promote the adoption of startup technologies.
Through Dysruptek, Haskell leads the construction industry in technological development and adoption. Contact the Dysruptek team to discuss your idea “For the Betterment of the Industry.”
