Baxter International constructed a $1.2 billion greenfield biologics facility in Covington, Georgia. This facility includes operations supporting plasma fractionation, purification, fill-finish and a testing lab. Complex facilities like these require specialized wastewater pretreatment. Since the construction Baxter has become Baxalta, Shire and now has been purchased by Takeda Pharmaceutical.

Haskell was selected by the Biologics Facility Contractor for the construction of the pre-treatment facility to treat wastewater flows generated by the operation of the plasma protein manufacturing. Haskell’s experienced construction team, combined with a trusted design partner, was able to complete the project and meet the aggressive schedule for the overall biologics facility.

Baxter's director of EHS was visiting the site yesterday and toured your area with Jack Ward. Jack reported that he was extremely impressed with everything he saw. He declared that this project is Baxter's new gold standard for waste water construction. This is something to be proud of and he will let all the craft know.
