An internship can be a launchpad for talent. Meet Ally Guilloux, who helps ensure that at Haskell, each student has the best internship of their life.
Ally Guilloux is the welcoming face many Haskell interns see when they arrive for their first day in a professional setting. Her role as Workforce Strategy Specialist in Haskell’s Jacksonville, Florida, headquarters combines skillsets that include traffic cop, avid listener and detailed organizer.
For her combination of aptitude, attitude and dedication, Guilloux has received Haskell’s Living the Values award, which goes to employees who consistently display Haskell’s corporate values of Team, Excellence, Service and Trust.
“She is wonderful at ensuring smooth communication among team members, which has greatly contributed to the success of the internship program,” fellow Workforce Strategy Specialist Michaella Hunter wrote in nominating Guilloux for the honor. “She is always the first to volunteer to help, even when she has a busy schedule herself. Ally never forgets a birthday or special occasion and is always the first to celebrate our achievements and express her gratitude with a heartfelt thank you card.”
To understand the push and pull of Guilloux’s responsibilities, look no further than May 2025. She received the Living the Values honor early in the month at a surprise meeting of coworkers and family, welcomed a record number of participants in the Summer Internship Program and received approval of a first-time house purchase with her new husband, Alex. She hopes the schedule will allow for another passion, international travel with her husband, once the interns depart in August.
“It’s a really big privilege to be a part of somebody’s potential career,” she said. “When I’m talking to the students, either on the phone, via email or when they arrive, I tell them that once upon a time I was a recent college graduate myself. So, I can understand how intimidating it is to feel like you have your entire career mapped out.”
Guilloux, a Jacksonville native, joined Haskell’s newly formed Workforce Strategy team three years ago, and this summer is her fourth internship group. Haskell welcomed 127 students in 2025 from 44 schools across the country. The cohort spans 11 Haskell offices, including the first time in the Mexico City office and a project in Africa, a year after first-time internships in Malaysia and Singapore.
Another new aspect to the internship kickoff was the inaugural Intern Workshop, where Chief Operating Officer John-Paul Saenz, P.E., shared key strategies from Haskell’s 2025 Playbook and highlighted the company's legacy of innovation.
Through the introduction process, Guilloux sees normally reserved college students feeling more comfortable. She especially relishes experiencing second-year interns displaying their newfound confidence in networking with experienced Haskell executives.
“If I had to sum up my experience in one word, I would say growth,” she said. “We work with so many incredibly smart people, but also smart people who are willing to share their knowledge with me and these interns.
“I have been pushed out of my comfort zone in ways that I didn’t envision just a few years ago. But I’m really thankful for those opportunities to grow as a person both professionally and personally.”
