Home / News & Insights / Colleagues Agree: Martin Rosales is the Model of Living the Values
Nominated for his sense of responsibility, support and empathy for others, Martín Rosales, Office Services Clerk II, has received one of three Living the Values Award for the fourth quarter of 2021.
“Martín is an exceptional Haskell team member, who demonstrates every day through his work and joyful attitude what ‘Living the Values’ really is,” said MaryCarmen Lopez, Human Resources & General Affairs Manager for the LATAM Region, who was one of Rosales’s nominators.
Rosales, who joined Haskell in 2016 and lives in Toluca, Mexico, is in charge of office administration. This involves a wide range of duties, from overseeing the purchases of pantry and stationery supplies to coordinating the cleaning staff, paying insurance premiums on time and arranging the purchase or rental of cars for those working on the construction sites.
According to his nominators — of whom there were no fewer than five — he undertakes every activity with great commitment and dedication. “Martín doesn’t believe in the word ‘impossible,’ and his first question in the face of complicated challenges is always, ‘What can we and should we do to find solutions?’” Regional Human Resources Generalist Jorge Morales said.
Before Rosales came to Haskell, he worked for 14 years in the Treasury department of The Nacional Monte de Piedad, a not-for-profit institution and pawnshop providing low-interest loans to the poor. He may be working for a different kind of organization now, but his inclination to help others continues.
“I really enjoy being able to support my colleagues,” Rosales said. “My job at Haskell has given me the opportunity to continue giving my children a professional education. I also get the satisfaction of interacting with my colleagues and the opportunity to make more friends.”
Over the past five years, Rosales has seen changes in the workplace, particularly in the increased staffing levels in the Mexico City office. Of course, there has also been the COVID-19 pandemic. All that has inevitably generated additional tasks, which he has taken in stride.
“During times of constant change due to the pandemic, Martín’s sense of responsibility, support and empathy for others has led him to be a key person in providing work tools, implementing security measures, and coordinating suppliers and necessary services for our day-to-day work in the CDMX office,” Lopez says.
Rosales, who is dedicated to his family and has a house full of children, dogs and exotic plants, said it was gratifying to receive the Living the Values Award. "It encourages me to improve my work every day,” he said.
His nominators were delighted that he was recognized for his contribution to Haskell:
“Martín is the type of team member that every company wants, always adding value to everything he does with his positive attitude and making everybody feel that ‘Haskell is the place where we all belong.’”
