Trusted Partner Network Builds Success for Subcontractors, Vendors

Haskell's Trusted Partner Network establishes a structured process for qualifying partners, tracking performance over time and supporting long-term relationships with the firms Haskell depends on to deliver projects.

Working globally across multiple markets and project types, Haskell must evaluate subcontractors and vendors on a range of criteria, including safety performance, financial strength, capacity, experience and day-to-day execution. The Trusted Partner Network (TPN) gives Haskell a more consistent way to manage those relationships across the business.

Formalized in late 2024, the TPN establishes a structured process for qualifying partners, tracking performance over time and supporting long-term relationships with the firms Haskell depends on to deliver projects.

“This program is for all of our partners, not just one segment of them,” said Teri Williams, Vendor Management Lead. “Small and disadvantaged businesses are an important part of that, but the bigger goal is to create a consistent system that helps Haskell and its partners work better together.”

It starts with TradeTapp, a third-party prequalification platform for collecting and reviewing contractor information. Through TradeTapp, firms submit financial, safety, quality and operational information that Haskell uses to establish a baseline view of readiness and capacity.

Once a firm is approved and begins working with Haskell, its performance is tracked over time and used to inform how that relationship develops within the network. The program is built around partner categories, internal review criteria and performance data that help Haskell evaluate partners more consistently across projects.

“The goal is to bring a standardized view of how subcontractors and vendors perform across the organization,” said Jonathan Miles, Senior Director of Supply Chain. “That helps prevent the risk that an outlying project experience disproportionately shapes how a partner is viewed companywide.

“The network is designed to reward stronger collaboration, not just cleaner paperwork. Our current model centers on three ideas: qualifying partners consistently, keeping thorough performance records and creating two-way communication that helps both sides improve.”

Each TPN partner is assigned a Haskell team member as an advocate who helps maintain communication, make introductions and provide context when opportunities arise. That structure gives project teams a clearer point of contact when they need insight into a partner and gives subcontractors and vendors a direct path back into the organization when questions or issues surface.

In its current phase, the program includes hands-on support that helps partners navigate prequalification, connect with project teams and gain visibility with Haskell buyers and decision-makers. That includes lunch-and-learns, relationship introductions and other opportunities for firms to present their capabilities and build familiarity with Haskell teams. In some cases, advocates can also help partners connect with teams pursuing projects that align with their experience and capacity.

TPN participants are also invited to networking and charitable events that connect them with Haskell leaders and project stakeholders outside the day-to-day pace of project work, such as the Queen City golf event in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the Wasatch Invitational Curling Tournament in Park City, Utah. The events give partners additional face time with Haskell decision-makers while supporting the communities where the company works.

“In a market with sustained demand, it is important to have strong relationships with partners you know, trust and can grow with,” Williams said. “TPN helps create that structure. It gives partners a clearer understanding of how to work with Haskell, provides our teams with a more consistent way to evaluate performance, and improves communication on both sides. We do not want firms to feel like one-time bidders. We want them to feel like true partners with a clearer path to long-term success.”
