Haskell modernized Nestlé's Ontario ice cream manufacturing facility through innovative process engineering and sustainable production solutions.
Haskell orchestrated a comprehensive upgrade and expansion of Nestlé’s Ontario ice cream plant. The project featured an innovative drive-through receiving room engineered for streamlined ingredient intake, complemented by automated tanker rinsing to minimize product loss and improve operational throughput. Implementing load-cell-based batching systems and mix-proof valves enabled efficient product movement between freezing centers, delivering unparalleled operational flexibility across the facility.
Smart process engineering delivered sustainable performance.
The project incorporated eco-friendly process solutions through single-use CIP systems with solution recovery, significantly reducing water and chemical consumption while ensuring controlled discharge to wastewater treatment facilities. Haskell also provided process design for facility additions, including silo-type dairy ingredient tanks, a purpose-built CIP room, a control center and a maintenance shop. Together, these enhancements improved operational efficiency, supported future production capacity and demonstrated Haskell’s ability to deliver sustainable, process-focused facility solutions.
