City of Jacksonville Parking Garage

Jacksonville, Florida

Most cities share a common problem: not enough parking.

Jacksonville’s bustling city center needed additional safe parking, but Haskell sought to deliver a structure that provided more than parking. We offered a 456,000-square-foot, mixed-use solution that fit the aesthetics of a brand new courthouse, blended in 10,000 square feet of retail space and added additional parking.

We solved the space shortage while adding consumer value.

The seven-story structure added 1,350 parking spaces in an appealing design with lighting and long visible sight lines that create a secure atmosphere throughout. Built of pre-stressed, pre-cast concrete on a drilled pier caisson foundation system, the internal double helix ramping system offers efficient access without crossovers. Garage visitors and downtown pedestrians can access ground floor businesses and retailers.

Design-build ensured quality and saved valuable resources.

The parking structure is a great success. In all, Haskell expertise provided value and single-source, design-build accountability that delivered a cost savings of $1.9 million. In addition, forward-thinking designers planned long-term maintenance and operational cost controls that will benefit city budgets for years to come. We were proud to provide the city with much-needed parking in a hard working structure that offers opportunity and value.
