Learn how Dysruptek and CRH Ventures' accelerator program transforms construction with sustainable materials. Apply now to scale your innovation.
Haskell’s innovation arm, Dysruptek, is one of five companies across the construction ecosystem partnering with CRH Ventures in its recently launched Sustainable Building Materials Accelerator Program.
CRH Ventures is the CVC fund of Dublin-based CRH, one of the world’s leading building materials and solutions suppliers. The accelerator will identify and empower the next generation of eco-friendly innovations in the construction industry.
Following the industry’s shift toward a circular economy, which reduces waste and environmental impacts by keeping materials and products in circulation for as long as possible, the Sustainable Building Materials Accelerator Program is targeting seed to Series B startups focused on three key areas:
Sustainable binder solutions that enhance cement and concrete's carbon performance and circularity.
New materials and applications that can transform conventional construction practices.
CO₂ mineralized materials for carbon storage.
The program will pilot cutting-edge technologies, offering finalists access to a global network of 200+ operating companies and extensive industry expertise.
“The Sustainable Building Materials accelerator reflects CRH's focus on advancing innovations that can significantly reduce the environmental impact of construction,” said Eduardo Gomez, Head of CRH Ventures. “We look forward to collaborating with promising startups that share our goal of building a sustainable future.”
The accelerator program brings expertise from five key partners. Haskell’s Dysruptek brings the expertise of an integrated architectural, engineering and construction practitioner. Construction Venture, the CVC arm of Bouygues Construction, provides insights from one of the world's largest general contractors. Climate Investment, an independent organization founded by members of the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI), focuses on scalable decarbonization technologies, while Arup contributes top-tier sustainable design and engineering expertise. AXA XL also supports the program with specialized insurance and risk management solutions tailored for construction innovation.
“We are thrilled to partner with CRH Ventures on their most recent accelerator,” said Cutler Knupp, Haskell Vice President of Strategy and Technology Investments. “With Haskell being a leader in sustainable design and CRH’s global leadership in materials, it’s a great opportunity to identify promising companies helping drive the future of how we build. With innovation at the core to drive meaningful change, this level of collaboration across the construction value chain is needed. We anticipate this program will surface and accelerate the time to market for promising early-stage founders.”
CRH Ventures will consider investments of up to $5M for each startup at the end of the program and will cover all travel and pilot expenses. Applications are open through December 16 and will conclude with a live pitch day in early March 2025, where 10-12 standout startups will present their solutions for a chance to secure investments from CRH Ventures to help pilot and scale their technologies.
Haskell is committed to its role as a leader in environmental sustainability in the AEC industry. We view our role in furthering sustainability in three dimensions: leading by example, through service and through active support of community organizations.
