Join Haskell as it adds up to four new project engineers in order to meet the needs of ever-growing projects and an expanding customer base.
There’s a very real possibility that the coffee and doughnuts you had at breakfast this morning, the burger you ate at lunch and the afternoon snack that will tide you over until dinner came off a production line designed by Haskell’s process engineers.
Now, that group is growing, as Shawn Hubbard, Haskell Director – Process Engineering, seeks a number of new Process Project Engineers for offices across the country, including Jacksonville, Florida; Dallas, Texas; Madison, Wisconsin; and Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ranked No. 1 by ENR among Food & Beverage contractors in 2020, Haskell undertakes projects as diverse as the 20-plus U.S. cities where it has offices.
“I really feel like one of the biggest selling points is the variety of the work that we do; it is unlimited for the most part,” Hubbard said. “We’ve done three doughnut facilities for QuikTrip, and while they were pretty much the same, even they weren't identical. We’ve done a lot of coffee projects, and all of those are different – every company has their own way of kind of doing things. So, there is a really wide variety of projects.”
Ideally, he would like candidates to have some background in dry processing – snack-food processing, cereals, etc., and while experience in dust collection is preferred, it’s not a prerequisite. Most importantly, Hubbard said, successful candidates will be team players, able to collaborate with colleagues and clients alike.
“We want them to be self-motivated as far as getting their portion of the job done, but they have to work in a team,” he said. “They have to be aware of other people's needs. It's not just internally with the group, but also externally. It's critical.
“Everything we do is in a team, and one of the things that we have really worked hard on is the culture of this group. We're very tight-knit group. For example, we've had people who have been stressed out with a deadline looming. Somebody else hears it and says, ‘Hey, I heard that you’ve got a deadline. Can I help you?’ And they've actually stepped in, even stayed late to help somebody meet a deadline. That's the kind of environment we have.”
In addition to providing a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment, Haskell operates with the direction of six strategic pillars, the first of which is to “Provide Team Members the BEST Job of Their Lives.” It offers a robust benefits package that includes a 401k match and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), which creates stock ownership for every full-time team member.
