A new training facility supports Coast Guard training.
The function of the new 26,000-square-foot Maintenance Training Unit (MTU) at the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Aviation Technical Training Center (ATTC) in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, is to support the facility’s primary mission of providing safe and effective maintenance for the USCG’s aviation fleet. The new training facility comprises classrooms, storage space and a high-bay mock-up training hangar that helps ensure that ATTC’s graduates are prepared to support the 26 USCG aviation units across the country.
The Center educates nearly 700 maintenance personnel a year.
The addition of the facility provides the ATTC with a realistic training environment that will contribute to its task of training nearly 700 of the USCG’s aviation maintenance personnel yearly. Aircraft mockups and support equipment provide hands-on training opportunities that will translate directly to successful execution at each graduate’s next duty assignment.
A focused effort pays off with delivery ahead of schedule.
With a focus on sound processes, quality control and project execution, Haskell was able to turn the MTU Elizabeth City Project over to the USCG prior to the contractual contract completion date.
