This collaboration was a purpose-driven partnership.
When plans were made for a world-class bottling facility rooted in sustainability, this multinational client returned to Haskell. Building on the successful delivery of two prior projects, this third initiative set an even higher bar, emphasizing advanced systems, environmental responsibility and long-term community impact.
The bottling facility was built for performance and designed for the planet.
The Pryor Bottling Facility is a 1.5 million-square-foot greenfield development that includes 25,000 SF of office space, 300,000 SF for processing and packaging, and 1.2 million SF for distribution. Its innovation extends beyond scale:
- Energy & Water Efficiency: Cutting-edge systems carried nearly a 40% reduction in energy costs and a 50% decrease in potable water use.
- Naturalized Open Space: Over 50% of the site was preserved, supporting native ecosystems and creating a more sustainable site footprint.
- Stormwater Innovation: Purpose-built ponds and management areas improved local water quality and reduced environmental impact.
- Sustainable Transportation: Preferred parking and bike racks encouraged carpooling and cycling to reduce carbon emissions.
- Recycled & Repurposed: Local Amish communities repurposed wooden production crates into handcrafted furniture, blending innovation with community support.
The innovative facility empowered employees to act sustainably.
Beyond infrastructure, the project emphasized employee engagement in sustainability. Educational signage, brochures, and a working wind turbine promoted awareness and inspired long-term environmental stewardship among the workforce.
The project exceeded its goal of LEED Silver, earning LEED Gold certification.
Initially aiming for LEED® Silver, the facility ultimately achieved LEED® Gold Certification from the USGBC, becoming the largest food and beverage facility globally to reach this distinction at the time. Every design and construction decision aligned with the client’s sustainability benchmarks, delivering enduring value for the team, the community and the environment.
This strong partnership established a benchmark for responsible building.
This facility is more than a production hub – it represents what’s possible when innovation, sustainability and partnership intersect. It stands as a shared commitment to excellence and responsibility, both today and for future generations.
