BLOX and Haskell are helping Walmart change the face of Healthcare.
Walmart Health is working to increase healthcare access significantly in underserved communities across the United States by installing clinics in an increasing number of its stores. The large retailer requires speed to market without significant disruptions to the individual stores, which remain open for business during installation. These factors led Walmart to team with BLOX, a Bessemer, Alabama-based medical module maker in which Haskell has a strategic investment.
Haskell’s stewardship of the site stressed safety and limited disruption.
Haskell provided prototype design support and construction management for the onsite portion of the first of these projects, including civil and site work, placement of the modules, “stitching” the modules together, and final system startups. The project schedule was designed to minimize the disruption of Walmart’s customers and allow safe erection of the building, which is adjacent to the store’s main entrance.
This initial partnership yielded project completion on an accelerated timeline.
The 7,500-square-foot clinic includes dental, medical, audiology, and vision bays along with an X-ray exam room. The Newnan, Georgia, clinic was completed in less than four months. It was the first built in partnership with BLOX.

(Partnering with BLOX and Haskell) allows us to accomplish more with less: faster, more efficient construction requiring fewer resources, allowing us to serve more customers quicker. This innovative collaboration allows us to tailor the Walmart Health design to meet the unique needs of the communities we serve, while also providing the necessary infrastructure to efficiently scale the model.
