Haskell recently received nine awards for the safety records of its teams constructing temples for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (JCLDS) in the Philippines.

Temple projects in Urdaneta, Alabang and Davao each received multiple honors from the Safety Organization of the Philippines, Inc. (SOPI) and the Philippines Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE):

  • Urdaneta: Perfect Safety Record, Award of Merit, Award of Honor and Award of Distinction
  • Alabang: Perfect Safety Record, Award of Merit and Award of Honor
  • Davao: Perfect Safety Record and Award of Merit

“This recognition is an illustration of the hard work and commitment of so many within our APAC (Asia-Pacific) International operations,” said Lance Simons, Vice President of Safety and Quality. “Recognition for our core value of ‘People First’ only further cements the Haskell Safety Culture on a global stage.”

Brian Roundtree Director of Corporate Safety, added, “This is fantastic and well-deserved recognition for the entire team, said “Their collective efforts and hard work are truly amazing. Haskell is leading positive change in construction practices and safety in the Philippines. The Haskell Philippines team will leave a positive and lasting impact.”

SOPI bestows safe manhours recognition to companies that achieve excellent safety performance in continuous man-hours with no lost time accidents. DOLE enforces strict and continual compliance with the minimum public health standards (MPHS) in business establishments, construction sites and major public places.

Haskell’s temple job sites have received DOLE’s Safety Seal Certificates in consecutive years.

“These recognitions are the result of the implementation and monitoring of a structured safety program,” said Cesar Castro, Manager of the JCLDS Safety Program. “We focus our efforts on caring for people, making the worker feel like an important part in the development of our projects, generating as a result a solid safety culture. It has been and is a great experience developing self-care in each one of them and contributing to make this experience the best work of their lives. Without a doubt, the participation and commitment of all the Teams, both contract partners and Haskell, have been a fundamental part of the process.”
