Haskell's Mexico City office recently earned significant certifications for its commitment to quality, environmental stewardship, and occupational health and safety from the Institute of Technical Standards and Certification (ICONTEC) in Mexico and IQNet internationally.

ICONTEC is a leading non-profit standardization body representing Latin American nations before the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Haskell earned the ISO Trinorma certification, encompassing ISO 9001 version 2015 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 version 2015 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 version 2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management). The accomplishment distinguishes the company for its reliability and high-quality outcomes.

“This achievement represents more than a certification; it is a statement of our values as a team,” said Alfredo García, Haskell Mexico’s Director of Field Operations. “It challenges us to reimagine how we build, innovate in every detail, and deliver solutions that transcend expectations. At Haskell, we don’t just build structures, we build trust, sustainability, and a better future for everyone we touch with our work.”

A Holistic Approach to Excellence

The certification process spanned 28 months and involved three key phases: design (June to December 2022), implementation (January to December 2023) and certification (January to October 2024). Achieving these standards required meticulous planning, dedication, and collaboration across multiple departments, including Quality, Safety, Design, Preconstruction, Construction, Human Resources and IT.

The certifications are not linked to individual projects but apply to all operations. However, flagship projects such as Intuitive 88-3 (industrial sector) and the San Luis Potosí Temple (religious sector) were instrumental in demonstrating Haskell’s adherence to ISO standards during the certification audit.

“Being part of this process and achieving ISO certification has been an exciting and rewarding challenge,” said Carlos Estrada, International Senior Quality & Safety Manager. “It allows us to consolidate our commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability in every project. This achievement raises our company's standards and ensures we deliver a positive and lasting impact to our customers and communities.”

The certifications provide tangible benefits to Haskell’s clients and position the company as a preferred partner in a competitive market. By adhering to rigorous international standards, Haskell ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget and with a commitment to quality and sustainability.

“This certification not only represents a significant achievement but reaffirms our commitment to excellence, efficiency, and innovation,” said Miguel Rivera, Quality and Safety Specialist. “It drives us to continuously optimize each stage of our construction projects, exceeding our clients’ expectations.”

They also differentiate Haskell in the marketplace, granting access to new opportunities where ISO certification is a prerequisite. This positions the company to expand its already significant Latin American footprint.

Promoting Transparency and Innovation

The certification of Haskell’s Mexico City office builds on the company’s existing ISO certifications in Colombia. These achievements are part of a broader strategy to embed continuous improvement and global best practices across the organization.

“Haskell's values are embodied in the daily dedication of its team, whose tireless and passionate effort to provide unparalleled service to our clients is reflected in these certifications,” said

As Ramón Ramírez, Vice President of International Design & Consulting. “Each deliverable and project reinforces the trust placed in us by our clients and collaborators, with the certainty that our commitment to quality is inalienable.”

ISO certification enhances collaboration with suppliers and contractors by promoting transparency and clear communication. It fosters trust and ensures that materials and services meet the highest quality standards. Moreover, it drives innovation by encouraging the adoption of new technologies and methodologies, leading to more sustainable and cost-effective solutions.

“Being actively involved in every stage of the process allowed me to deeply understand how every detail, no matter how small, contributes to the organization's overall success,” said MaryCarmen López, Director of International Human Resources. “This project not only involved the implementation of international quality standards but also a collective commitment to improve our processes, strengthen our operations and ensure that we offer the best to our customers.”

Ultimately, the certifications underscore Haskell’s dedication to delivering value to its clients and the communities it serves. By implementing robust management systems and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, Haskell ensures that its projects have a lasting positive impact.

“This milestone, achieved through the collaborative work and dedication of our corporate and operations team, inspires us to exceed client expectations continually,” Rivera said. “At Haskell, we are not only building infrastructure but also creating processes that prioritize quality, sustainability, and safety.”
