Learn how looking to the stars in her youth instilled a commitment to creativity and collaboration for the widely respected Marketing Specialist.
Growing up in Titusville, Florida, the coastal Central Florida town in the shadow of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, provided Jodi Mosley with a unique creative outlet.
“It was a privilege being raised in that environment,” said Mosley, a Marketing Specialist at Haskell’s Jacksonville headquarters. “Not every kid can go outside and watch a shuttle launch. We would watch the shuttle take off on TV and then rush outside to see it fly over our house. That was really cool.”
That impression at a young age inspired Mosley to express further her creative bent, including attending local music performances, participating in multiple school bands, art, dance … even playing guitar and singing Classic Rock songs publicly.
“I knew something in the creative realm would be sustainable for me,” Mosley said. “I talked to people at Florida State College at Jacksonville about what to focus on. The dean of digital media talked about designing shampoo bottles while he listened to music in his previous role. That hooked me. I thought, ‘Wow, how fun!’”
She brought her inspiration and talent to Haskell in Spring 2022, making a difference and an impression that has earned her the company’s Living the Values Award, given quarterly to team members who embody Haskell’s core values of Team, Excellence, Service and Trust.
“She is very active within Haskell, currently serving as chair of Haskell Together’s Communication Committee and as a board member of MARCO, the collaborative peer-level group of marketers from across the enterprise,” wrote her award nominators, Elisabeth Suhey, Meghan Kegebein, Tom Long, Kurt Caywood, Eric Lander, Craig Bukata, Jacob Shank, Margaret Gibbs and Brett Martin in the Haskell Corporate Marketing Team.
“Working closely with the leadership team, she also helps develop quarterly Operations Meeting presentations that are high-quality and error-free, and she supports numerous corporate departments. There is literally no request that Jodi doesn’t fulfill. Need a file photo? She finds it. Need a quick graphic? Give her 15 minutes.”
Mosley said she relished the opportunity to mesh with her marketing colleagues and the hundreds of subject matter experts across Haskell’s 25-plus offices.
“It’s so cool to work around such talented people,” Mosley said. “I could never imagine doing that until I came to Haskell. It’s such a perfect role for me, enabling me to flex my creative focus. Combining the black and white of reason with a creative view is the perfect blend for me. Seeing what our professionals create in the real world alongside my digital graphics work is such a cool thing to see.”
The level of integration is impactful. One day, she is working on a graphics presentation for a department’s retreat, the next a preconstruction report and, recently, a major initiative for company leaders establishing a new vision for the company.
“Haskell cares about the business side but also the investment in people,” Mosley said. “All the training opportunities and encouragement to expand my skillset and professional abilities have been fantastic. Haskell really fosters an environment that lets us grow and better ourselves. Everyone I’ve worked with has been a real cheerleader.”
