A trusted partner joins the team, enhancing Haskell's ability to self-perform automation, controls and electrical work. Learn how clients benefit.
Haskell has acquired Richard L. Oreair & Company, a privately held, family-owned specialist in process electrical, controls and factory-floor automation based in Jacksonville, Florida, with which Haskell has a longstanding relationship.
A leader in the Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) delivery of manufacturing facilities, Haskell now counts process electrical contracting among its self-performance capabilities. The Oreair team joins another specialized group acquired recently. Cortez, Inc., a highly respected process mechanical contractor specializing in equipment installation, process and utility piping, brought more than 100 new team members in Summer 2022.
“With the addition of Oreair, we now have the full complement of in-house process mechanical and electrical capabilities,” said Ryan Hollister, Vice President of Construction Services. “The recent Cortez and Oreair acquisitions position Haskell as one of the most capable EPC firms in the country, uniquely equipped to self-perform the most critical scopes of work for our customers.
“Haskell’s acquisitions of Oreair assure high-value capabilities for customers, combining new competencies with existing mechanical and steel expertise to complete the self-perform stack necessary for off-site and modular skid fabrication.”
Founded in Jacksonville in 1955, Oreair comprises about 45 licensed electricians, project managers and estimators. The company’s core technical capabilities include:
- Process control and industrial automation
- An in-house control panel shop
- PLC/HMI system integration
- Cat-6 Ethernet and fiber-optic cable installation
- Low-voltage instrumentation and communication wiring.
Oreair is currently engaged on a significant Haskell project for a confidential beverage maker and has been a contract partner frequently in the past. Bringing its services in-house expands service capabilities to include line expansions, automation upgrades and service support, and it enhances Haskell’s control over critical scopes in manufacturing environments.
It delivers high-margin, high-value capabilities, and combining these new competencies with existing mechanical and steel expertise completes the self-perform stack necessary for off-site and modular skid fabrication.
Conversely, joining Haskell positions the former Oreair team to contribute to the process controls and automation scopes of Water/Wastewater projects and opens the door to structured cabling, fiber networks and low-voltage systems in Data Center construction.
The company has worked in more than 30 states and is currently licensed in 13, with additional city and county licenses.
“The Oreair team has been a trusted partner to Haskell for many years, and those folks will be a natural fit with our Haskell family,” Chairman, CEO and President Jim O’Leary said. “The capabilities they bring will be a significant addition to our already outstanding self-performance capabilities and allow us to further provide the certainty of outcome our customers expect.”
At Haskell, we take our clients’ goals as our own. We innovate constantly to ensure that we deliver world-class solutions with the best possible effectiveness, efficiency and performance. Contact us to discuss your facilities and manufacturing needs.
