Home / News & Insights / ‘A Friend at the Office,’ Joselyn Rudd Honored for Living the Values
Haskell Architecture Design Associate Joselyn Rudd lives her job. Literally.
The Salt Lake City resident and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints member is responsible for ensuring that numerous logistics are in order early in the project lifecycle. Many of those projects are temples or other church facilities.
“During the construction of the Temple, my role is to be the conduit that supports the interior design scope by ensuring that the client’s expectations for interior finishes and details are clearly understood and executed accordingly,” Rudd said. “Because of that, I coordinate closely with vendors, on-site team members, the architect when it’s not Haskell, and the client to align the design intent and installation details,” Rudd said. “That’s my first role. My second, during the design process, is to be the lead interior designer for the Temples I am assigned to by developing the architectural drawings used by the site during construction that relate to interior design
She has been in the role since 2019, and it does, indeed, connect her personal, faith and professional lives.
“I have an even greater love for this work since I’m also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” she said. “So, it’s even more meaningful to me because I know that I am helping to build a house of the Lord and all of the wonderful blessings that are given there to members of my church. I have a real passion for what I am doing because of it.”
Her first project in the role was the construction of the Puebla, Mexico, Temple, which was announced in 2018 and completed in 2024.
“That is a big temple and a special one for me,” Rudd said. “I was able to attend the dedication with one of the apostles of the Church present (in May 2024). That was an amazing opportunity to serve.”
Rudd’s dedication to service was instrumental in her receiving Haskell’s Living the Values award, given quarterly to team members who exemplify Haskell’s core values of Team, Excellence, Service and Trust.
“She builds trust in our team by welcoming any new team member as if she had known them for years,” Architectural Design Associate Will Newell wrote in nominating her. “She never forgets anyone’s birthday and serves all of us by making it feel like we have a friend in the office. She has excellent knowledge of the projects she works on and is a great resource when it comes to quality and lessons learned. Because of these things, she has become a strong, key member of our team.”
A graduate of Cesar Vallejo University in her native Peru, Rudd gained project experience in the cities of Huaraz, Chimbote and Lima, before moving to the United States. She and her husband, Zachary Rudd, have three children, daughters Arabell and Annie and a son, Aaron. They are expecting another son, Arthur, in February 2026.
She considers her Haskell colleagues her extended family.
“The people at Haskell care about each other,” Rudd said. “When I started working here, people always asked if I needed anything. Always so caring. That motivates you to work harder when you feel like others want to help you succeed. Because what I am doing is so important, and having people working with me as a team through every step shows that what I am doing is for everybody. That helps me to continue.”
