Niagara Bottling Manufacturing Facility

Soyaniquilpan, México

Haskell didn’t just build production lines for Niagara in Mexico. It built a relationship that brought Niagara back two years later when it needed an entire bottling plant.

Haskell and Niagara began their business relationship in Mexico in 2015 with the Niagara Monterrey project consisting of two production lines that produced packaged cases of water-filled plastic bottles. Thanks to the great relationship built during that project, Niagara returned two years later to partner on another, this time an entirely new facility. The Haskell and Niagara teams worked together to find a site suitable for a bottling plant in the central part of the country, and in 2017 chose the Arco 57 Industrial Park located in Soyaniquilpan de Juarez, State of Mexico in Mexico.

Because it adopts the client’s goals as its own, Haskell acted as the partner Niagara sought.

Once on site, Haskell’s scope encompassed the architecture, engineering and construction of the more than 575,000-square-foot (SF) plant. It comprised a 420,996 SF warehouse, a 141,178 SF manufacturing area and 11,038 SF of office space.

Work included earth movement, manufacture and assembly of metal structures, installation of tilt-up walls, construction of exterior buildings and maneuvering patios, asphalt pavement, slope protection, finishes, as well as the installation of fire protection systems, drains and services and electrical systems. As an additional project, the team dug two 46-foot-deep water wells that were connected to the project process system.

Haskell reacted quickly and efficiently to setbacks.

It is important to mention that the construction team created and executed mitigation measures to deal with significant rains year-round. The project remained on schedule and wrapped up in March 2019, as planned. The completed manufacturing facility accomplished the objective of producing 456 million bottles per year.
