Kurt Caywood

Editor-in-Chief

Kurt is Editor-in-Chief and Director of Corporate Content at Haskell. He develops and guides the content and editorial voice for Haskell.com and the company’s social media channels. He and the editorial team create and distribute clear, compelling narratives that reflect the company’s values and industry leadership.

Caywood’s career spans decades in digital media, journalism and content strategy. He began as a sports journalist and advanced into leadership roles directing digital transformation, audience growth and revenue initiatives for major media organizations. His background blends newsroom discipline with a deep understanding of audience development, positioning him as a leader who bridges editorial craft, data fluency and brand communication.

At Haskell, he focuses on elevating the company’s visibility, strengthening its reputation and expanding its share of attention in a competitive and rapidly evolving media environment.

Brett Martin

Marketing Specialist

Brett balances engagement strategy, thoughtful storytelling and data-driven insights to support Haskell’s marketing goals. He develops, writes, produces and edits content across Haskell’s external channels, including website articles, project profiles, social media and video productions.

Brett has helped organizations ranging from startups to large-scale SaaS companies build strong brand identities and effective messaging. Since joining Haskell, he has led initiatives to revamp the company’s social media strategy, introducing vertical video and “edutainment” content that combines education with entertainment to increase engagement and showcase Haskell’s expertise.

Drawing on his background in brand development and education, Brett partners with teams across the company as a project manager and creative consultant, ensuring that every piece of content is both approachable and strategically aligned to position Haskell as a leader in the AEC industry.

Dave Auchter

Vice President

Dave oversees Haskell Marketing, Business Development and Public Affairs, including Corporate Contributions, both charitable and political. He is a veteran communications practitioner with a career spanning football (NFL), golf (PGA Tour), healthcare, commercial real estate, and construction. He has served in many public leadership roles over the past 30 years in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. He chaired the Downtown Development Authority and Design Review Committee and is a past-President of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).

Christopher Allen, AIA, DBIA, WELL AP

Architectural Practice Design Lead

Christopher Allen joined Haskell in 2006 and now serves as Architectural Practice Design Lead, a role in which he champions the company’s design culture and advances design excellence. Allen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Boston University and a Master of Architecture from The Ohio State University.

Nick Brown

System Analytics Senior Advisor

Nick Brown is a System Analytics Senior Advisor at Haskell. With over 10 years of experience in data analytics, process improvement and programming. He specializes in developing and delivering innovative solutions using Power BI and simulation modeling to help healthcare organizations achieve their strategic goals and optimize their resources. He has a bachelor’s in Business Administration from The Ohio State University, a Master’s of Science in Human Factors Engineering from Wright State University and multiple Lean Six Sigma certifications.

Mike Byron

Design Director – Process Lead

Mike Byron is a Design Director – Process Lead with Seiberling, a Haskell Company, and has been with the company since 1993. Mike is primarily involved in the design of Process/CIP systems for the liquid processing industries. Current responsibilities include overseeing project designs for liquid processes and leading process design associates in the Beloit, Wisconsin, office.

Cesar Castro

Manager – JCLDS Safety Program

Cesar Castro joined Haskell in 2016 and is Manager of the JCLDS Safety Program. A native of Colombia, he earned his International Diploma in Health-Safety-Environmental and Quality and is a credentialed Mining Professional and Mining Rescuer. He has 14 years’ experience in construction safety.

Kevin Crump, P.E.

Chief Civil Engineer

Kevin Crump, P.E., is Chief Civil Engineer at Haskell, where he is in his 18th year. He is a LEED-accredited professional with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida.

Peter Ferek

Mechanical Engineer

Senior Integration Manager Peter Ferek is a Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of system design and integration experience. As an Integration Manager, he is responsible for leading technical design efforts on multidisciplinary projects, with a focus on beverage production lines for cans, glass, and other packages.

Christopher Flagg, FASLA

Vice President – AE Group Operations Principal

Christopher Flagg, FASLA, is a Haskell Vice President at AE Group Operations Principal, a role that encompasses a wide range of objectives, from increasing the company’s design excellence to mentoring a diverse staff of more than 180 interdisciplinary professionals. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree. He is a registered Landscape Architect, practicing for over 45 years and has been a Fellow in the profession since 2013.

Jon Heussner

Strategic Industry Advisor Member

Jon Heussner is a member of Haskell’s team of Strategic Industry Advisors specializing in Food Manufacturing. He is HACCP- and Safe Quality Food (SQF)-certified and has more than 40 years of food engineering and operational experience with manufacturers such as Tyson, Conagra, Hain Celestial, Dean Foods, and Scoular.

Ron Holmes

Vice President – Corporate Sustainability

Ron Holmes, Vice President of Corporate Sustainability, has more than 25 years of experience in Environmental, Health and Safety roles for global organizations, such as General Electric and Diageo, and has created world-class sustainability programs to drive carbon reduction while supporting customer sustainability goals. He has a bachelor’s from Youngstown (Ohio) State in Environmental Science and a master’s in Environmental Engineering Science / MBA from Gannon University.

Bela Jacobson 

Vice President – Automated Manufacturing Solutions

Bela Jacobson is a Haskell Vice President, leads the Automated Manufacturing Solutions Market and oversees the Atlanta office. A graduate of Georgia Tech, she holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and joined the company in 2005. She has assisted Consumer Packaged Goods companies through system design, emulation, and optimization efforts, as well as master planning and solution implementation.

Greg Janzow

Director – Food Safety

After two decades of operational experience in food and beverage production facilities, Greg Janzow shifted directions and applied his accumulated expertise on the food safety realm. He joined Haskell as Director of Food Safety in 2021 and leads a multidisciplinary team that ensures clients’ food and beverage processing facilities meet the highest safety standards. He is a Certified Food Scientist, has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Texas A&M and a Master of Business Administration from Strayer University.

Donald Kocher

Director – Packaging & Material Handling Automation

Donald Kocher is Haskell’s Director of Packaging & Material Handling Automation. He has 25+ years of experience executing food, beverage, and consumer goods packaging projects. Before joining Haskell, he provided controls design, programming, commissioning, and daily operational support for several major food and beverage companies.

Keith Perkey

Vice President – Business Development

Vice President of Business Development Keith Perkey has 25-plus years of experience in food, beverage, consumer, and pharmaceutical products. He has been involved with all phases of completing a capital project, from concept to post start-up optimization.

Rodger Lawrence

Regional Quality Control Manager

Rodger Lawrence is a Regional Quality Control Manager with more than 13 years of industry experience in various markets, including aviation, aerospace, commercial, water, industrial and food processing. As Quality Manager, he is responsible for the various phases of the project, including project quality planning, design phase, project quality assurance, quality metrics and continuous improvement.

Courtney Linn

Project Manager

Project Manager Courtney Linn is a native of Illinois and earned her bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Illinois State University. She has worked full-time on three Haskell projects and currently is assigned to a large greenfield food manufacturing facility for a confidential client in the Northwestern U.S., where she oversees facility-related scopes.

Anita McGoogin

Business Diversity Administrator

Anita McGoogin is Haskell’s Business Diversity Administrator. She is a certified supplier diversity professional and a driving force behind Haskell’s Supplier Diversity program. Her mission is simple yet powerful: to connect minority-, women-, veteran- and persons-with-disabilities-owned businesses with opportunities within the company and to promote an inclusive supply chain that spreads wealth across all communities. Anita is a passionate advocate committed to the cause of supplier diversity and inclusion. With a wealth of expertise in the field, she drives the Supplier Diversity program and actively works towards providing innovative solutions that bring diversity and inclusion to the forefront of the corporate landscape.

Kevin Meek, RN-BSN, BA, MHI, EDAC, FACHE

Vice President & Division Leader – Design and Consulting Services

Kevin Meek, RN-BSN, BA, MHI, EDAC, FACHE is a Haskell Vice President and Division Leader of the Design and Consulting Services Group. Kevin received his Master of Healthcare Innovation from Arizona State University, a Bachelor of Nursing from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership and serves on the Board of the Nursing Institute for Healthcare Design.

Jeff Pearse

Design Director – Process & Automation Lead

Jeff Pearse is a Design Director – Process & Automation Lead with Seiberling, a Haskell Company, and has been with the company since 1991. Jeff is primarily involved in the design of Process/CIP systems and control systems for the liquid processing industries. Current responsibilities include overseeing project designs for liquid processes and leading process design managers and the automation group in the Beloit, Wisconsin, office.

Bob Price

Senior Member – Process Division

Bob Price is a senior member of the Process Division, specializing in integrated process and CIP engineering for the dairy, food and beverage industries. He has been with the company since 1991 and brings deep expertise in designing safe, efficient and flexible processing environments. Bob has a Bachelor of Science in Food Science from Framingham State College in Framingham, Massachusetts, and a Masters in Food Science/Food Engineering from The Ohio State University.

Brian Roundtree 

Director – Corporate Safety

Brian Roundtree is Haskell’s Director of Corporate Safety, having joined the company in 1999. He has craft experience and has been a safety professional for the past 30 years. He holds several certifications, including Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Construction Health and Safety Professional (CHST). He currently serves on several industry organizations, including American National Standards Institute (ANSI) z359, the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), SkillsUSA and the American Contractors Insurance Group Safety Committee.

Hamzah Shanbari

Director – Innovation

Hamzah Shanbari is Haskell’s Director of Innovation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia, a Ph.D. in Design, Construction and Planning and a Master of Science in Building Construction from the University of Florida.

Lance Simons

Vice President – Safety and Quality

Lance Simons joined the company in 1982 and currently serves as Vice President – Safety and Quality. He is active in several industry organizations, including Southeastern Construction Owner and Associates Roundtable (SCOAR) Safety Committee, NCCER National Safety Committee and American Contractors Insurance Group Safety Committee.

Matt Williams

Director – Business Development

Matt Williams is the Director of Business Development in Haskell’s Water Market. Matt excels at helping municipalities and private utilities provide clean water to their communities and responsibly handle wastewater. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Building Construction Management from the University of North Florida.

Taylor Williams, M.Ed., Ed.S.

Master Corporate Trainer

Taylor Williams, M.Ed., Ed.S., is a Master Corporate Trainer in Learning, Development, and Engagement at Haskell. Her passion for personal development, mental health, communication, emotional intelligence, and innovation inspires her work. With a background in mental health, business, design thinking, and performance, Taylor is passionate about helping people create lives – in and outside of work – that help them feel like the best version of themselves. She has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Florida, where she played volleyball.
