Chief Design Architect

Background & Experience

Christopher Allen, AIA, DBIA, WELL AP is Haskell’s Chief Design Architect and is responsible for championing design culture and advancing design excellence across the enterprise. He has over 25 years of diversified conceptual and technical design experience working with public and private clients on a wide range of projects.

He is a licensed architect in multiple states and has a strong track record of delivering successful integrated design-build projects. Signature projects include Jacksonville University’s Frisch Welcome Center and the University of Florida Special Collections building for the Florida Museum of Natural History.

Education

Chris received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Boston University and his Master of Architecture degree from The Ohio State University.

Professional Affiliations

Chris is an Eagle Scout and the past committee chair for local BSA Troop 276. He is a past-president of AIA Jacksonville and is the 2019 recipient of the Chapter’s prestigious John W. Dyal Award for Leadership and Service to the Community. He currently serves on the board of the Okefenokee Swamp Park and the advisory committee for UF City Lab, a graduate school program in Jacksonville affiliated with the University of Florida’s School of Architecture and focusing on hydro-centric urbanism.

Personal

Chris and his wife Janet reside in Jacksonville, Florida, and have an adult son and daughter.
