Northeast Georgia Medical Center Lumpkin

Dahlonega, Georgia

Master planning led to a new structure serving two vital roles.

The replacement of Northeast Georgia Medical Center Lumpkin was a strategic initiative guided from the earliest stages by Haskell, serving as the Owner’s Representative. The new hospital fulfills a dual purpose: ensuring continuity of high-quality care for the Lumpkin County community while establishing a scalable, modern healthcare facility designed to support future growth and evolving clinical needs.

The new facility connects and complements existing structures.

Haskell’s involvement began with conceptual programming and extended through construction and post-occupancy evaluation (POE), ensuring the facility met operational goals and community expectations. The hospital is a vital extension of the broader Northeast Georgia Health System and is designed to integrate with existing healthcare networks in the region. Through close coordination with architects and contractors, Haskell helped shape a facility that reflects the health system’s mission while enabling seamless clinical operations and patient-centered care.

A resilient healthcare environment supports growth and long-term impact.

Despite significant challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and market volatility, Haskell managed a $70 million construction budget with precision, delivering the project on time and under budget, returning $1 million in savings to NGHS. Following completion, a thorough POE assessed performance in key areas such as infrastructure reliability, safety, workflows, and community impact. These findings inform ongoing improvements, supporting NGHS’s long-term strategic goals and underscoring Haskell’s commitment to delivering high-performing, resilient healthcare environments.
