Discover why Haskell invested in BLOX and how the Design Manufacture Construct method is transforming project delivery through modular innovation.
JACKSONVILLE, FL – Haskell, one of the leading global architecture, engineering, construction (AEC) and consulting firms, announced today that it has become a strategic investor in BLOX, creator of the Design Manufacture Construct (DMC) delivery method. DMC is an emerging movement that combines vertically-integrated, innovative design with modular construction, ultimately delivering manufacturing efficiency and customer value.
"Haskell’s investment in BLOX reinforces our commitment to innovation as a means to further enhance value to our customers,” said Jim O’Leary, President and Chief Executive Officer of Haskell. “DMC represents an important part of Haskell’s future strategy, as we progress from pioneers in the Design Build (DB) delivery method to Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) and now DMC where we can control as many design and construction variables as possible."
"Our strategic partnership with BLOX will dramatically accelerate Haskell’s knowledge, proficiency and utilization of the DMC delivery method that our customers need and want,” said Brad Slappey, who is Haskell’s Chief Financial Officer and leads its Strategic Investments Group. “The manufacturing precision and speed of delivery DMC affords has potential for many buyers, but the immediate opportunity is in the Healthcare market and with our customers who require consistency across diverse project locations."
BLOX has been a pioneer in the development of modular healthcare solutions for almost a decade. BLOX’s modular design, installation and full construction capabilities range from standard modular components – operating rooms, exam rooms, bathrooms and head walls – to large-scale modular delivery of ambulatory and acute care facilities. BLOX has established multi-project modular free-standing emergency room programs for two of the nation’s largest healthcare providers and has opened the first eight projects with many others underway.
"Working with Haskell we saw first-hand how their innovative culture aligned neatly with the concepts of DMC. BLOX’s rapid growth and Haskell’s deep bench of talent make a great one-two punch; we are excited to have them on the DMC team,” said Chris Giattina, Chief Executive Officer of BLOX.
