LiDestri Skinny Can Line

Rochester, New York

The Haskell EPC project created a new spiked seltzer skinny-can system.

As the popularity of Ready-to-Drink (RTD) cocktails grows, beverage manufacturers like LiDestri Food and Drink (LiDestri) are looking for new, innovative ways to brew and package these products. Haskell’s extensive experience in wet-process technology and effective can solutions made us the perfect partner to design and install a skinny-can line for LiDestri’s new hard seltzer.

The new system enabled high-speed production from fermentation to packaging.

Haskell executed conceptual design, detailed design, and full EPC implementation of this system. The process includes wort batching, fermentation, centrifuge, reverse osmosis filtration, batching, inline blending, carbonation, flash pasteurization, rinsing, filling, sleeving and final secondary packaging. The system is capable of 1,200 cans per minute at a steady state.

Our team adapted existing equipment for a quick-to-market solution.

The aggressive project schedule required relocation and refurbishment of a significant amount of used process and packaging equipment paired with new equipment. The team’s strategic focus on critical-path requirements ensured successful installation, startup, and production goals to meet customer demand for a new product launch. The line went from concept to production in record-breaking time.
