David A. Thaeler Wins National Recognition; Named to HR Honor Roll
Has served as Haskell HR leader since 2008
JACKSONVILLE, FL — Haskell is pleased to announce that David A. Thaeler, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, has been recognized by his industry peers as one of the top HR professionals in the US among organizations with fewer than 7,500 employees. Haskell is one of the leading global architecture, engineering, construction and consulting firms supported by 1,352 employees across 20 US office locations as well as international offices in Mexico, Singapore and Malaysia.
"A very large part of the credit for the extraordinary transformation of Haskell-culturally, strategically and operationally-goes to David,” said Haskell CEO Steve Halverson. “He has made me a better CEO."
Thaeler was honored at a banquet on October 26, 2017 in Boston, Massachusetts. The HR Honor Roll and HR Executive of the Year Award is organized annually by Human Resource Executive magazine. Since its inception in 1989, 97 individuals have been named to the HR Honor Roll and the HR Executive of the Year award has been presented to 29 recipients.
"The Great Recession hit our business and industry with full force almost immediately upon David’s arrival and David saw the crisis as an opportunity,” said Halverson. “He counseled me not to delay my plans for cultural transformation, but rather to use the crisis as an opportunity to build and reinforce our commitment to our core values and our people."
Thaeler’s responsibilities at Haskell encompass human capital strategies including succession planning, training, talent management, culture engagement, compensation and benefits, and overall organizational development. David has 20+ years of human resources leadership experience in employee-centric organizations including two Fortune 500 companies. He has successfully led teams in developing and implementing human capital strategies that drive business results, create positive work environments and increase overall employee engagement.
Prior to Haskell, David served as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for a Georgia-based hospital system that was identified four years in a row as a Fortune 100 “Great Place to Work”.
