A national retailer wanted to better serve west coast locations.

Jo-Ann Stores, a leading fabric and craft retailer, wanted to improve its distribution services with a new center utilizing state-of-the-art automation. Not only was it a massive undertaking in itself, the company wanted to have it up and running very quickly. They turned to Haskell to make their distribution vision a reality.

We delivered efficient distribution within a highly effective distribution center.

The 630,000-square-foot distribution center is highly automated using the latest in multi-level pick module, conveyor and sorting systems. A 49,888-square-foot warehouse provides structural mezzanines to support the extensive network of automated conveyors, sorters and diverters. The facility’s specialized computer-control and bar-coding technology efficiently packages orders and distributes products to more than 300 Jo-Ann stores that lie west of the Mississippi River.

A fast track schedule delivered quick results.

Even with the structure’s massive scale, the entire project was up and running in just six months. The practical building’s clerestory design provides aesthetic value and offers extensive natural lighting and energy efficiency. Even better, company personnel have found it a desirable, efficient working environment.
