Haskell Acquires Leading Atlanta Engineering Firm

Jacksonville, FL - The Haskell Company, one of the nation’s leading design-build firms, announced today it has completed the acquisition of E²M, an Atlanta-based manufacturing system integration firm that engineers manufacturing solutions for its customers in the food, beverage and consumer products industry.

The acquisition will add an additional level of expertise to Haskell, which works with some of the world’s leading food, beverage and consumer products companies to develop highly efficient and cost-effective manufacturing facilities. The acquisition of E²M will allow Haskell to provide a single-point-of-contact for delivery of large-scale manufacturing plants for clients, which have included Nestlé, Kimberly Clark, ConAgra, Frito-Lay, Tropicana, Gatorade, Starbucks, Kraft, Quaker Oats, Gallo, and Diageo, among others.

“This is a strategic move for Haskell that will position us in the national and international marketplace as leading experts in both manufacturing and facility solutions. Our integrated team can provide world-class solutions in process, packaging, material handling, and building facilities,” said Jim O’Leary, Group President of The Haskell Company. “By joining forces with E²M, Haskell will now serve as a single-point of contact for customers that want to design and construct a manufacturing plant from site selection and due diligence to the final phases of process, packaging, material handling and facility construction. Our professionals can deliver small- and large-scale projects consisting of the building and the systems inside it.”

E²M will continue its current operations in Atlanta, maintain its brand and continue its long-standing relationship with Polytron Inc., a recognized industry leader in power and automation systems, under the terms of the acquisition. For more than 25 years, E²M has provided engineering and project management services to its customers in the manufacturing industry, specifically in the areas of process systems, packaging systems, material handling and distribution, system analytics and modeling, and manufacturing consulting.

“We are pleased to be joining forces with Haskell and believe our partnership will provide the most effective and comprehensive solutions any firm in this industry can offer,” said Wayne Young, Chief Executive Officer at E²M. “Our services are complementary to one another and our combined experience will add value for our clients by providing a full-service, single-point-of-contact approach to delivering manufacturing projects. Together, we will offer clients reduced project risk, faster delivery and more efficiency in the design and delivery process."

Under the acquisition, E²M employees will join Haskell’s already growing team of architects, engineers and contractors. The merger will also expand Haskell’s geographical diversity by adding an Atlanta office to its list of corporate locations, which currently include its headquarters in Jacksonville and offices in Dallas and Mexico City.

“Before this partnership, many of our key customers would have needed to hire two separate firms – one for the design and construction of the facility and the other for the engineering of process, packaging and material handling systems,” O’Leary said. “Now they have one comprehensive firm with expertise in each element of their project allowing us to greatly expand our customer base and allow us to provide unparalleled service and efficiency to our clients.”
