A new health awareness campaign demands research.

In order to implement actions recommended by the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs) 2013-2020, PepsiCo took an aggressive step. The leading food and beverage company decided to build a research facility where their team could explore how to convert their products from fried to baked goods. PepsiCo chose Haskell, a trusted partner over 25 years, to construct their first research and development center for baked goods.

In order to do their best work, creative and innovative minds thrive in an inspiring environment. Not only is the 83,750-square-foot facility stimulating, it also has sustainable features, including a green roof, photovoltaic system, gray water re-use and natural lighting.

PepsiCo commits to growth in Mexico.

In early 2014, PepsiCo’s CEO, Indra Nooyi announced a $5 billion investment in Mexico over the next year to strengthen their Latin American food and beverage footprint. This cutting edge facility proves to be pivotal for PepsiCo’s initiative by increasing the market demand for innovative products that promote a healthy lifestyle in this region.
