Jacksonville, FL – Jupiter Medical Center and Haskell recently celebrated the groundbreaking of $44.2 million in additions and renovations to Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida. Haskell is the fully integrated design-builder for the Florence A. De George Pavilion, a three level (plus penthouse), 100,000-square-foot hospital addition to the existing campus.
"The groundbreaking celebration for the new Florence A. De George Pavilion at Jupiter Medical Center was a momentous occasion for us and for the surrounding community,” said John D. Couris, President and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. “Beginning this second phase of the Medical Center’s three-phase expansion plan is another example of fulfilling our commitment to provide world-class healthcare to the residents of Northern Palm Beach County and beyond."
The first floor will include a completely new main kitchen and dining room for the hospital. The balance of the first floor consists of a private physician dining room, staff support spaces and space for a future expansion. The second floor of the facility includes 30 private patient rooms configured for orthopedic and spine patients, a private patient and family dining room and a rehabilitation gym. The third floor of the addition will house a replacement labor and delivery unit. The unit will consist of eight labor and delivery rooms, 14 postpartum rooms, two Cesarean delivery rooms, a holding nursery and support services. Major renovations to the main campus central energy plant and on three levels that align with the new addition are also included in the project. As part of the project, site parking, lighting, landscaping, and storm drainage will be improved throughout the full hospital campus.
"We are so excited to be involved with the project. Our integrated design and construction team has worked closely with Jupiter Medical Center in creating, and now delivering, the Florence A. De George Pavilion and The Anderson Family Orthopedic and Spine Center,” said Jim Eaton, Vice President of Haskell's Healthcare Division. “This project will dramatically improve orthopedic patient care, children and women’s services, dietary services and the central plant infrastructure of the entire campus.
