Baptist Medical Center South

Jacksonville, Florida

Medical care comes to a community in an award-winning design.

When Haskell was chosen to develop, design and build a healthcare campus to serve two fast-growing adjacent counties, the result was a leading-edge greenfield facility on a 32-acre site, which earned the Excellence in Construction Award by the Associated Builders and Contractors.

We designed a flexible hospital with a path for future growth.

The design team, in collaboration with Gresham Smith & Partners, provided design solutions that could meet current needs while providing opportunities for future additions and expansions. The team designed the facility with plenty of open and garden spaces and used natural light and warm colors to craft a healing environment.

We joined the power of science and healing in a unique facility.

The full-service healthcare facility offers vital services such as radiology, surgery, emergency care, oncology and a sleep lab. In building this premier healthcare facility, Haskell integrated environmentally conscious attitudes, values and principles, alongside science, technology and engineering practices to create a healing space that nurtures both the body and spirit.

  • The project’s 257,137-square-foot, 125-bed hospital included a six-story patient tower
  • Advanced technologies enabled this hospital to be the first in the system to be paperless
  • Project of the Year, Excellence in Construction Award – Associated Builders and Contractors 2010
