Pilot Pen selected The Haskell Company to provide design-build services for its 20,000 s.f. automated distribution facility.

The new facility is a fully air conditioned building with load bearing tilt-up concrete walls and a conventional steel frame. The storage area features super-flat floors to accommodate wire-guided material handling equipment.

The building is used to distribute precision writing instruments manufactured next door to the new facility in a building that Haskell originally built for Pilot Pen in 1994 and added onto in 1997. Construction began in January 2001 and was completed in August 2001.

Haskell provided real estate services, as well as complete design-build services, including architecture; civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering; landscape architecture; and interior design.
