This 200,000 s.f. specialty hospital was designed by architects Cannon Design.  It included 80 cardiac care beds, 4 cath labs, 3 open-heart surgery suites, and electrophysiology labs on an extremely restricted site alongside the St. Johns river.

A feature of the design was a free-standing heliport located above the courtyard. The project also included a new 40 treatment-room emergency department and a 500 space parking deck.

Access was maintained to the hospital and ER during construction, at times below the ongoing construction.
